The Old Technique

over the last few years, letterpressing has become increasingly popular. the old technique has been revived! the beauty of letterpressing as opposed to the new-age technology is the skill and handwork that is put into the creation of your product.

examples of letterpressed stationery:

this video shows how letterpressing actually works. have a squizz. interesting stuff.

celebrating the female form

i really want to try pole dancing. and this video is especially inspiring. the amount of strength you need to execute all these moves and still look sensual, i cannot begin to imagine.

you know the pussycat dolls doing the pole dance in the train? well that is NOTHING compared to this!

click clicking clicked

surfing online these days is just getting far too dangerous for the likes of me and every other shopaholic.

with the copious amount of shopping blogs popping up all over, it's so hard to resist 'just looking'.

of course, many of these sites are utter rubbish. it's kind of like sifting through the shops in sungai wang to find your pieces of treasure. well, after much clicking, i've managed to find a few independent online stores that are bookmark-worthy.

honey-pumpkin

lacquer and lace

neo vintage

the envelopes

ettoffe clothes

shopaholics unite

muff + stit

shoessaholic

click click click, and before you know it, your bank account has plummeted dangerously low. and all you have to say to defend yourself is, "ooops. i didn't realise i clicked so much!"

okay. i'm off to meet my cousin for a potential project. i might actually get to use my tablet soon! *happy grin*

precious desires

there is one little store in melbourne which i have been deeply in love with for their unique collection of jewellery made by independent designers - e.g.etal

i have still yet to find out how it's supposed to be pronounced. i am loving their current collection. when i think of jewellery, i immediately look to this store for sparks of inspiration.

oh these really make my hands itch and start digging into my jewellery supplies. specially with the new stock my mum brought down for me. yay!

little miss turquoise

i was playing around with polyvore again. *big grin*

this is something along the lines of the colour theme i wanted to decorate my room by. a touch of romanticism with a hint glam, yet maintaining a cosy feel.

i'm going to be immensely broke next month. ok, so what's new?

i didn't realise my insurance renewal would be due so soon. and of course, it collides with my bangkok trip, causing my bank account to plummet like a suicidal skydiver jumping off the plane head first.

bah. time to get back to work. will be posting up a few pics from jin min's birthday dinner at el cerdo soon. =) and i have yet to steal the xLive pics from TY.

let's play dress-ups!!

warning: for bimbos only.

i've just discovered this awesome site - polyvore

you get to do up your own styling moodboard, publish it, see other people's work and the choices are almost seemingly endless. it's like having a fantasy wardrobe at your disposal!!

bliss.

this is my first attempt. and of course, i decided on a colour theme none other than.... yellow!! if you guessed correctly, it just shows how well you know me.

i foresee many many hours spent lying here playing dress-ups. *big grin*

dead romance & design wonders

why do i feel like we're drifting apart although everything is still the same?

perhaps it is because he no longer has 'that look' as often as he used to. or is it because of the lack of cuddles that used to make me feel so appreciated? it could also be the signs of him wanting to be single every now and then. and certainly no more whispers of sweet nothings.

i know, it's almost inevitable for all this to happen as a relationship progresses towards the stale end of the scale, but i don't like it and i refuse to accept it. just like how i refuse to accept that my metabolism is starting to slow down and i need to start exercising.

lesson number one on marriage:
his mum once said to me (in her cute nyonya accent), "marriage is not about love love thing. it is about keeping each other company until you're old. even though we fight everyday about small small things, i know he is a good person."

but the thing is, i WANT that "love love thing". i want it to be the forever, ever ever (ala outkast) thing. who doesn't?

it is because of this, i don't think i'm very good with keeping long relationships. i refuse to grow stale. i want passion throughout, not obligations. perhaps, i really am going to be an old spinster with 14 cats as someone once told me.

oh joy.

conspire to inspire

i've been obssessing over interior books, magazines and websites over the last few days. my favourite eye candy especially are ohjoy and poppytalk.

a few ideas have been forming in my head and it's all so wonderful and different, i don't know what direction to go with for my room!

i love these wallpapers i found at interiors. love love love.

not to mention, i've had this HUGE obssession with birdcages for ages and ages. specially white birdcages. i know it's so overdone now, but it hasn't killed my love for it. i still want one. or two. or a whole house full. and look what ohjoy posted up not long ago!

gorgeous... GORGEOUS birdcages from horchow that i simply adore. i want them all!

and a couple more things which i found through poppytalk.

i love the simple, clean look of this room. just subtle touches of a little something different here and there. it reminds me of a sun room where i can just laze around in warmth and coziness with some books and some nice jazz in the background. i know... it sounds so pretentious.

okay, time to go home and look for some photos for REAL work. the internet at work is chugging violently. dial-up would be faster than this. i bet someone's downloading porn. dirty bastards.
